Education in our area

MARK WELFORD As an English tutor, working across a range of age groups, I still continue to be inspired by the enthusiasm and achievements my students show in the subject. In many ways English tuition is proving itself to be a valuable addition for an increasing number of students. Building on the foundations

that schools

provide, I am able to add a flexible learning approach, helping to instill confidence in both understanding and application. Whether you are a student wanting that extra guidance, or a parent wanting

to understand the

examinations better, and ways to best help their child, then please get in touch.

FARLINGAYE HIGH

SCHOOL is a positive learning environment, creating a huge range of opportunities for students. Graded outstanding by Ofsted, we nevertheless constantly seek improvements, and excellent results reflect our students’ ambition and drive. Great staff and engaged students create a community

Andrew Slater (bass baritone). Gippeswyk

Singers with Lambeth Orchestra and

Beccles Choral Society have previously

collaborated at

Snape Maltings for a sellout performance of Elgar’s “Dream of

Gerontius” which received tremendous reviews in May 2017. Conductor Geoff Lavery has recently become the musical director of Phoenix Singers (Framlingham) and is now in the unique position of being able to seamlessly rehearse and coordinate a phenomenal chorus of 200 singers accompanied by the superbly talented 80 piece Lambeth Orchestra (leader Alan Thorogood).

This promises to be an exciting and memorable evening with tickets (£15 - £25) in high demand. The best

NURSERY CELEBRATES 14THANNIVERSARY Rendlesham Day Nursery will be celebrating 14 years since they opened in April 2005.

The nursery was opened by husband and wife team Dan and Tina Powick who were childminders in Woodbridge at the time. They have since looked after several

popular in the Hall was Peter

Drew’s extensive collection of historical newspaper cuttings and postcards featuring Sizewell,

the Aldringham and Friston areas.

Across the courtyard in the Garrett Room was a large

memorabilia put together by Di and Henry Mann and Chris Broom, who were happy to advise visitors on how to trace their military ancestors. Help was also on hand to assist folk to research their family trees using computers and the Internet. Ever popular Janet Huckle was kept busy as usual dating peoples’ old family photographs. award in the most recent Ofsted inspection. They were the first nursery in Suffolk to have web cams so that parents are able to watch their children securely on line and they also opened Bridge Farm Day Nursery in Martlesham in 2008. Dan credits the success of the nurseries to the staff, 'We have been very lucky that many of our staff have been with us 10 years or more including our Manager and Deputy Manager at both nurseries.

All staff show

amazing dedication and care to the children and take their roles very seriously.'
