AN established business in the heart of Woodbridge, Robert Douglas Hair Workshop opened in 1988 and has been under the ownership of Nadia Catterwell for the last 21 years.


Located at 86 Thoroughfare, this beautiful period property oozes character and style – quite


apt for a modern


salon at the cutting edge of contemporary fashion. Nadia has recently bought the freehold so now owns the building outright. This led to a major refurbishment which has created a stunning new look.


Being in a period property with lots of features is lovely – it is not something that can be replicated in modern properties. This was always at the forefront of Nadia’s thinking when she was designing the new-look interior. It is fair to say that with the team of tradesmen, Nadia has done a superb job in creating a bright, spacious, contemporary interior which combines the existing historic features with a modern feel. The new-look salon provides the perfect place for clients to unwind and enjoy their visit to Robert Douglas. Over the years, the team here have built a fantastic reputation and have a long list of regular and repeat clients – many of which have been with Nadia from the very beginning.


As you would expect from a professional salon, the team attend training courses with L’Oréal for both cutting and colouring to ensure they are always up to date with the latest trends and products. In addition to this there is regular


in-house training.


The refurbishment has created more space in the salon thanks to some clever reconfiguration. This gives a more open feel with plenty of comfortable seating in the waiting


area and numerous


chairs from which stylists work their magic. The large team means there is usually same-day availability, though if you have a preferred stylist it


is advisable to book an


appointment well in advance. Joining Nadia in the salon are stylists Lisa, Teri, Amanda, Tom, Mac and Amy, trainees Abi and Jess, and Charlotte and Jenny looking after bookings on reception. Between them they offer vast experience, modern techniques and - apart from hair extensions - every service you would hope to find. Robert Douglas Hair


Workshop is a unisex salon catering for ladies and gents as well as children of all ages. The team are always on hand to offer their expert opinion and advice and like nothing more than having the opportunity to get creative when a client comes in for a ‘fresh look’.
