FAMILY FUN IN MALTA

A holiday to Malta is filled with fantastic opportunities for family moments and memory-making.

Holidays don’t have to be all about relaxing by the pool with an ice-cream; Malta, Gozo and Comino offer a great setting for action-packed getaways as well. Although, you can of course enjoy the simple pleasures of a beach break at the same time.

SUNNY WEATHER

Sitting right in the centre of the Mediterranean, located beneath Sicily, the weather on this beautiful Maltese archipelago is very pleasant. From the mild temperatures in the winter months to the hotter climates over the summer, there’s a time of year that’s perfect for your family in Malta. Always remember sun cream though, to protect you and your little ones from the warm rays.

Mellieha Bay, Malta’s longest sandy beach with great views of Gozo, has some fantastic fun on offer. This blue flagged beach is perfect for families, with its sloping sands for safe swimming, and its offer of water sports; from windsurfing and kitesurfing to canoeing and sea kayaking.

And, if you’d like something closer to where you’re staying, plenty of hotels offer tennis courts, squash courts, gyms and even scuba diving opportunities.

Experience the amazing sights of Malta away from the crowds in the Rolling Geeks self-drive cars, fitted with GPS. The electric cars are fun, easy to drive, not to mention environmentally friendly, letting you experience authentic Maltese culture and climate first hand. All the benefits of an organised excursion in the freedom of your own quirky car!

HISTORIC DELIGHTS STUNNING BEACHES

Malta is all about the outdoor life, with a selection of beaches and charming bays to be found and explored. The kids will have a whale of a time on the soft, red sands of Ramla Bay, hailed as Gozo’s prettiest beach. The waters are clean and shallow, so children can safely enjoy the sea. You can even learn a bit of history as you seek out the buried remains of Malta’s Roman past.

There’s plenty to discover beneath the water, and keen divers will love to discover sites like the wreck of the HMS Maori in Valletta. Gozo and Comino have some of the finest dive sites in Europe, and the Santa Maria Caves, for example, are absolutely teaming with marine life.

ADVENTURES TO BE HAD

After you’ve had a little snooze and the kids have made some seriously impressive sandcastles, maybe you’d like to jump into something more exciting to get those hearts racing. Well, Malta is no stranger to the more adventurous activities.

No holiday is truly complete without teaching the little ones a thing or two about where you’re staying. And, what better place than Malta to do this, with its rich history dating back thousands of years.

Prehistoric temples, Roman ruins, medieval castles and walled cities; Malta has a wealth of sightseeing opportunities for you to explore. If you’re lucky, you might catch a historic re-enactment taking place. This exciting display finds many lovers of Malta’s interesting past coming together, dressed in anything from knights in shining armour to noblemen and ladies. With endless days out for the whole family.
