THEBERTON LION

IT is now four years since Tom Lagden took over at this popular village pub and it is pleasing to see that the Theberton Lion is really on the up!

The success of this rural pub is built on good food and drink. From the kitchen you will find a menu offering tasty dishes, homemade and fresh to order. The menu changes seasonally and there are always new and interesting dishes on the ever-changing specials board. Of course, booking is always recommended, but it is essential for weekends and special occasions. Tom’s big passion is real ale, and this is immediately apparent when you make your way to the bar. You will notice local brewers such as Norfolk Brewhouse, Boudicca and Calvors represented. In fact, Tom has all but phased out the large national and international brands – favouring instead to showcase the many smaller and local producers we have

here in East Anglia. The line- up is always changing but you can be assured a good beer from the Theberton Lion. In fact, the first Monday of the month is

always a popular

night as it is ‘Beer Club’ night, an opportunity to try some new and interesting ales. However, Tom knows that a good pub these days means more than just good food and drink. To that end, there

is

always something going on here. The second Monday of the month is open mic night and there is a book club hosted on the third Monday of the month. Saturday is karaoke and vinyl evening, and there is live music planned throughout the year. This is usually a Saturday night and

Tom

always selects local bands and acts. As something to look forward to

later this spring,

there is a 1940’s themed night planned for May 11th. Further details to come but rest assured of a good evening with entertainment and music from

the era. The

Theberton Lion is

very much a family friendly community pub. Walkers, cyclists and four-legged friends are all welcome to come in and make themselves at home. Tom is constantly upgrading and looking at the next area to work on, but this is still very much a home from home for his customers and he wants people to come in, enjoy a welcoming atmosphere, good food and drink and above all, relax and have fun. This is what a pub should be, and it is most certainly what the Theberton Lion is. To reserve a table, enquire about accommodation or for any further information please call 01728 830185 or find the pub on Facebook.
