Three adolescents had been seenwith catapults and several dead squirrels had been found inHayle Park Nature Reserve. The youthswere confronted and said the squirrelswere for their lunch. The PCSOhad been asked to investigate. Parking Regarding inconsiderate parking at the beginning and end of the school day, a link had been sent to councillors about the process of road changes and evidence needed to do this.Ward Cllr Susan Griggwas looking at boards outside the school. Shewould see if she could buy themunder the Community Scheme Grant. Southern pumping station Southern Water had advised that themanhole in the orchard that needed replacement highlighted another issuewith the outfall pipe that passed under the road and down to the river. Tree roots had forced theirway into this pipe, causing a restriction and forcing themanhole cover to overflowin some conditions. The cover had been replaced and root cu�ing had been completed. The outfall pipewas now clear. SouthernWaterwasworkingwith KCC to organise the road repairs. Junction issuesAresident had raised concern about the junction ofWalnut Tree Avenue turning right onto theA229 and suggested double yellowlines. KCC had said thiswasmanaged on their behalf by

on a Hyundai Santa Fe on a driveway in Derby Road, Shepway. Nothing appeared to have been taken. A house was broken into in Fordwich
Close, Allington. Cash and jewellery were stolen. Unknownmales entered a flat and
stole property in Buckland Road. A house was broken into in Langdale

Walk round Cllr Porter reported on the walk round he and CllrMallison had carried out. Itwas said to be a very successfulwork party and therewere lots of ideas to feed back. Youths Cllr Susan Hogg said a group of youths had been playing chickenwith vehicles near the bus stop onMillstock Terrace. Cllr Hogg had reported this incident to the police and urged other councillors to do the same if they saw similar behaviour. Newsleer The newsystemfor delivering the newsle�erwentwell. Emails had been received fromsome residents saying they had not received
the newsle�er. This issue had already been rectified. Itwas noted that the printers had sentmore newsle�ers than had been ordered, at no extra cost. Itwas suggested that if this happened again, they could be delivered to homes outside the parish boundary. Neighbourhood plan The assistant clerk updated themeeting on progressmade. Another two residents had offered to be part of the project. The assistant clerk had suggested a consultation evening to explain to residents howthe planwould benefit them. Reeds cut-throughAfter a vote, the council agreed to seek quotations for the installation of lighting on the cut- through. Itwas agreed that the chairman would ask Pearson’s Landscapes that, as there had been no fete this year, the fete financial provisionwithin the contract be diverted towards improvements at the cut-through. Burial Ground Lane Therewas a discussion about paying police to issue fixed penalty notices to cars obstructing the footpath. Itwas agreed to start the process by asking the clerk to contact Kent Police to discuss this. Itwas also agreed to contact KCC and start seeking quotes fromcontractors to put in the missing link pavement on the other side of the householdwaste site entrance. Children’s activities CllrAbigail Hogg asked that this be added to the next agenda, and requested that a discussion take place about the possibility of an activity to run alongside the full parish councilmeeting to enablemembers of the public to a�end. Achievement group Cllr Susan Hogg reported on the group’s latestwork. They had painted over the graffiti on the other side of the river and had planted bulbs by the footbridge onWharf Road. The chairman thanked themfor their work. Drug dealing Cllr Frith reported that there had been drug dealing at the bo�om ofWharf Road and shewould like to see the parish council do something to prevent this.

garden of a residential property in Brishing Lane. A house was broken into and anApple
computer was stolen in Groombridge Square, Shepway.
