500 SCHOOL CHILDREN SING AT HEREFORD CATHEDRAL SCHOOL'S CAROL SERVICE


Over five hundred school children from across Herefordshire and beyond gathered in Hereford Cathedral on 28 November to kick off the 2018 festivities in style.


Hereford Cathedral School’s Combined Schools Carol Service was arranged as part of the School’s music outreach programme. Music is a major part of the School’s heritage and for a number of years now the Director of Music, David Evans, has run music outreach events, inviting pupils from state primary schools to sing and perform in major concerts alongside pupils from Hereford Cathedral School.


Choirs from eleven schools were involved in the 2018 event. Headmaster Mr Smith said: “It is a huge privilege for Hereford Cathedral School to facilitate music making and performance from across the county and beyond in Hereford Cathedral.”

The School’s Saturday Morning Music School is also widely regarded as a major centre for learning music, offering a range of


instrumental and singing lessons for all abilities and ages, from 6 to 80+.
