Shellcast Recieves Contract for PAC-3 Launch System Trainer Project

After a lengthy evaluation process Shellcast, Inc has been

chosen to be the casting supplier for the Advanced Patriot Missile (PAC-3) launch trainer system for the US Army’s Redstone Arsenal. The is the largest contract award in the company’s 57 year history. The system replicates the launcher used in combat

applications and allows personnel to practice and become more familiar with the handling requirements necessary with the weapons in the field. Developed by Lockheed Martin, the trainer incorporates cost-effective steel investment castings rather than titanium used on the production version. Shellcast’s senior staff members have experience on both PAC-3 trainer and production castings which proved to be a deciding factor for the award. The project involves machining, finishing, and assembly

operations and Shellcast is partnering with Seiler Industries in St. Louis, MO for those activities. Conversely, Shellcast supplies Seiler with castings on the M777 howitzer program. The Redstone Arsenal project is seen as an ideal effort

to leverage the experience and strengths of both companies resulting in best value. Seiler senior management calls it “a winning relationship”.

About Shellcast, Inc. Shellcast, Inc is a certified small business located in Western Michigan and is now celebrating its 57th year in business. The company operates with systems that are registered to the ISO 9001: 2015 AS-9100D quality standards with Nadcap accreditation for nondestructive testing.
