LIVELINE OK,
DECEMBER
Why not welcome in the season of goodwill with some Bad Manners at Epic Studios on the 8th. The visit of Buster Bloodvessel and his pals is now almost as much a part of the Christmas build up as queuing to get into Chapelfield car park. But without the road rage.
Ducking Punches return from their European tour in time for a homecoming gig at the Waterfront Studio on the 9th. Support includes an appearance from We Bless This House, who you will remember from Let's Rock back in May.
Meanwhile, next night, on the 10th, Nashville grunge-pop band Daddy Issues arrive at the Waterfront Studio, chaperoned by PAWS and our very own Graceland. Three great acts for less than a tenner. Who said Christmas was expensive?
Glasgow's GUN share their Favourite Pleasures with us at The Waterfront on the 13th, and are bringing along the highly rated Austin Gold and Dirty Thrills for company. Shoot the rapids to get to that one.
THE BEST LIVE MUSIC FOR THE MONTHS AHEAD
peeps, I know you are all really busy with all that Crimbo stuff, and that this is a really stressful and expensive time of year, but the music scene in Norwich continues all the way until Christmas. Give yourselves a break from internet shopping and get out to one of our
hand-picked live events. Whilst you are at it, purchase some tickets for a show in 2019 as a thoughtful giſt to a loved one. The Theatre Royal and Norwich Arts Centre also offer giſt vouchers, and the Arts Centre has a Supporters Membership for £20 that gives 12 months of discounts on tickets and bar purchases. Just an idea. Or you could give socks again like you did last year.
Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, will be at Open on the 20th. Come up and see him, make him smile, and possibly turn him into a Mr Soſt.
Probably Norwich's greatest rhythm and blues band, 4D Jones, get the pre Christmas weekend off to a flying start at The Reindeer in Dereham Road on the 21st. Get a red nose like Rudolph's for that one.
First out of the blocks aſter Christmas are Norwich alt-rockers KAVES, who will be shaking off the hangovers with a gig at The Waterfront Studio on the 28th. They've even persuaded The Visitors and Blood Like Honey to turn up as well. So should you.
Everyone heads out on New Years Eve, right? If good live music is what you are looking for then buy a ticket for The Brickmakers on the 31st (not everyone knows how many days there are in December), where Pure Passion and Blind Tiger will help you rock your way into 2019. Happy New Year!

year resolution to go to at least one live gig each week. It doesn't have to be a £50 stadium show – many local events cost less than a tenner, some are even free. Check out the listings, and become a part of the scene.
To be honest, there are not a lot of bands touring in the immediate aſtermath of Christmas, but Norwich Arts Centre kicks things off with a show featuring three local bands – Mosaic, St Benedicts, and Caravan Club, on the 4th, followed by John Otway on the 5th.
It is an evening of heavy hearts on the 12th at Norwich Guildhall, when American singer songwriter Marty O'Reilly headlines the very last Grapevine for Music night to be held at this illustrious venue. Hot Raisin are supporting. Let's hope those Grapevines quickly find a new home in which to put down fresh roots.
Odd Box host another one of their nights at Norwich Arts Centre on the 17th, with Chalky Seas, Liz Lawrence, Fresh Flowers, and the return of the one and only Laura Goldthorp.
If you like it loud, and who
doesn't, be at Open on the 18th when local band Collapse The Sky headline, supported by Crawlblind and By Virtue Fall. Between them, they should bring the house down.
The creator of Jilted John and John Shuttleworth will be appearing as himself, Graham Fellows, singing songs and being Completely Out of Character on the 23rd. Is Gordon still a moron? Did John and Julie ever get back together? Maybe we will find out at Norwich Playhouse.
If you are looking for a bit of Hocus Pocus, or your name is Sylvia, head along to Epic Studios on the 24th, where Focus are appearing. Don't forget your glasses. The excellent Guranfoe support.
End the month at The Waterfront on the 31st when hard rockers Inglorious arrive with their big guitar riffs. You probably heard that they 'ain't in the prisoner- takin' business'. But they are definitely not bastards.
Now get ready to rock into February, where I'll meet you with a red rose for a candlelit dinner on the 14th.
