Middlesbrough College rated good by Ofsted

Ofsted inspectors have praised Middlesbrough College for its strong curriculum that meets the needs of Teesside, in a report rating the college Good.

The report points to Middlesbrough College’s “caring, supportive and challenging” environment which raises aspirations for students. Inspectors also highlighted well-qualified staff with industrial experience who deliver courses to “highly motivated” students with

positive attitudes, in well-equipped learning environments

And student behaviour received strong praise with inspectors noting that learners were “highly motivated”, felt safe in college and valued the support they received in college. It was also noted that students benefit from a wide range of enrichment activities in the college and compete successfully in regional and national skills competitions. Zoe Lewis, principal and chief executive of Middlesbrough College, said: “Inspectors have recognised that Middlesbrough College is committed to equipping students with the skills to fulfil their career and life goals. The proof of our success is in 96 per cent of full-time students having secured employment, an apprenticeship, or further study at College or university.”
