t Columba’s School in Kilmacolm is renowned for its first-class education and academic excellence. Our
size is also our strength. With about 700 pupils aged 3-18, each child is known by name and recognised as an individual. Our beautiful countryside location, on the outskirts of Glasgow, attracts pupils from a 30-mile radius with the aid of our dedicated coach service. This unique setting and the outstanding educational experience we offer creates an environment that allows each pupil to realise their full potential, grow and flourish. Our outdoor education programme supports the development of an all-round individual. These outdoor skills begin with our fledgling learners where we turn our classrooms inside out to enhance the power of play. As well as reading, writing and
numeracy skills, our Early Years children are taught PE, French, music and drama by specialist teachers. They also have access to a fabulous all- season play space and our Wild Woods where they can create, build dens and
benefit from hands-on learning. From Junior School, philosophy, drama, music, art, enterprise, STEM, chess, golf, Mini and Junior Duke Awards are all part of our dynamic extra-curricular programme.
In Senior School, we believe in the promotion of excellence in an environment that is both challenging and vibrant. As a result, pupils achieve consistently outstanding examination results. Despite a national pass rate of 77.4 per cent, our pupils
achieved a 97.3 per cent pass rate at National 5 this year of which 78.6 per cent were at grade A and 40 per cent at A Band 1. The rounded nature of St Columba’s
is evident in the record number of sports internationalists often leading to sporting sponsorships in the USA, record number of entries and awards achieved for Duke of Edinburgh and outstanding musical, debating and public speaking performances. Come and explore St Columba’s.
