During this period at Athelhampton, Marevna began to depict the people working at the house, in particular she focussed on the kitchen and the animals. In many respects she was referencing her earlier days working alongside Soutine and his paintings of animal corpses, however unlike Soutine the narrative of these depictions are more ethereal.
