This summer, The Listed Property Owners’ Club launched the national petition calling on the Chancellor to reduce the rate of VAT to 5% on repairs and approved alterations to listed buildings. We are already a quarter of the way to our target of 10,000 signatures that will trigger a response from the Government, but there is still a way to go. Make your voice heard by signing the petition on
www.lpoc.co.uk/vatpetition – more details in this issue’s Campaign for Owners on page 10.
As well as the inclusion of our usual Listed Heritage features – members’ letters, case studies, appeal casefiles, interiors and the suppliers directory – we have a collection of specialist articles on cob buildings. A popular feature of the magazine are the personal accounts of listed building owners, and this issue also includes a particularly interesting insight into the experiences of actress and animal conservationist Daphne Neville, who lives in a converted Grade II listed stone-built mill in Gloucestershire.
Enjoy the magazine and do get in touch if you have any queries, feedback, or anything else you’d like to share with us.
