Pursuing a dream
Dewey was Gassville Fire Depart- ment’s fire chief for three months earlier this year, but decided to resume working full-time as a paramedic with BRMC. “This is my heart,” Dewey said, add- ing she worked hard for her paramedic skills, and by working on an ambulance she is able to give someone the interven- tion they need at that time. “It just feels right,” she said. Dewey also is licensed to work in the BRMC Community Paramedic Program, where she meets with at-risk patients who are home from the hospital. The program, which began about five
