Bellrock awarded a place on Crown Commercial Services Framework

The leading light in technology-enabled facilities management (FM), Bellrock, has been awarded a place on the Crown Commercial Services’ (CCS) Facilities Management Marketplace Framework Contract. The CCS has created the framework so government departments can benefit from a pre- selected group of suppliers offering the ‘Most Economically Advantageous Tender’ (MEAT).

Bellrock has been awarded the place

for two of the three sub lots, Lot 1a and Lot 1b for the supply of facilities management services. Drawing on significant experience in the public sector from local authorities to central government, schools and healthcare facilities, the Bellrock team has developed solutions for the framework based on an integrated service model underpinned by our

unique Concerto software platform. “Being awarded a place on the new

CCS framework provides us with a platform to grow our share of the pubic sector market with our workplace and compliance services. This is a significant opportunity for the business, following on from the award of a place last year for our software company Concerto, on the CCS G-Cloud framework,” said David Smith, CEO, Bellrock.

CIBSE Launches A Transformational Technical Symposium

Highlighting its agenda of change, The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) has announced the theme for its ninth annual Symposium as: Transforming Built Environments. With this announcement, CIBSE is calling for participation and the submission of contributions for this diverse and inclusive event. CIBSE’s aim with the Symposium is

to provide an opportunity for building services professionals and academics to examine and share research, developments and applications that will drive change in the built environment. In addition, the Symposium will provide evidence of opportunities to benefit from established engineering practices. To build on this year’s hugely successful

event, CIBSE is inviting industry practitioners to make a contribution to the 2019 Symposium through the

submission and presentation of material. The institution welcomes content in a number of different formats including: papers that represent original research or summarise the current state of understanding on a topic; case study presentations of the application of an engineering or environmental system and posters that concisely communicate research findings or case studies. Presentation topics could include building related energy, acoustics, comfort, electrical systems, IT, lighting, thermal performance, public health, facilities, ventilation and associated systems. Material should be based on current research and application as well as the actual or potential impact on the built environment Those interested in contributing to

this event should submit a 250-words abstract outlining their proposed

presentation to cibse.org/symposium by 17th September 2018. All submissions will be peer reviewed to assess their suitability. For further information concerning applicable abstracts, visit www.cibse.org/symposium. Alongside academics, CIBSE is keen to encourage the participation of practicing designers, contractors and building operators. As such, the Symposium Committee will also welcome the submission of case studies supported by keynotes as opposed to a formally reviewed paper. Selected authors will get the

opportunity to present their work to an audience of CIBSE members, building services industry professionals and academics at the 2019 CIBSE Technical Symposium, which will take place at the University of Sheffield on the 25th and 26th of April.
