Duckhurst FarmThe clerk reported on the parish office’smediation between residents and East Kent Schoolboy Scramble Club in respect ofmotocrossmeetings atDuckhurst Farm. The clubwanted to reschedule one of its four days of races,whichwouldmean racing on consecutive days. The advice from MBCwas noted, that it found the new schedule satisfactory. Older People’s ChampionMBCwas seeking support for a newinitiative to appoint older people’s champions. Itwas agreed to find outmore details of the role and to ask the communitywardenwhether shewas interested. FeteArota had been drawn up to cover the parish council’s stall and invited councillors to sign up.
Fireworks event Itwas agreed to consent to use of the Jubilee Field for an event around the date ofNovember 5 in 2018, 2019, and 2020,with the council to bewith appropriate risk assessment, insurance cover and conduct of each year’s event. Staplehurst in BloomThe assessorwas to visit on June 28. Councillor Kelly said he would seek to a�end the visit. The clerk said the visit and assessmentwas a dry run to provide feedback to informan entry into the competition next year. GDPR Itwas resolved to update the computer systemtomeet the new regulations and to create dedicated email addresses for councillors. Satswanawould be appointed as data protection officer for one year only. Playing fieldAn email had been received fromamember of the PTFAregarding use of the playing field in July as part of their year 6 leaving party. Itwas agreed that this should be permi�ed but theymust be covered by their own public liability insurance. Recreation areaOne bollard still required replacement and two “No quad bike or motorbikes” signs needed to be backed on to a hardwooden surface and then erected. Itwas resolved not to buy a single swing, but towait until a grant could be obtained for a larger scale project.
