Richard Engineering


in December 2015. Located at 5 Betts Avenue, Martlesham Heath, the business was well established and had built a superb reputation over many years. The business has since been rebranded as Dave Chapman Ltd.


Dave’s wife, Angie,


looks after the office here and explains that having worked in the industry for 25 years they had been thinking about starting their own business. When the couple saw Richard Pipe Engineering for sale they knew it was the opportunity they were looking for. An established business with a reputation for good customer service was something that Dave and Angie could build on.


It wasn’t long before


Dave and Angie were looking to introduce new services and in August 2016 they built an MOT bay on Anson Road – just around the corner. This is now fully booked at least a week in advance such is the demand.


With business


increasing it became apparent that they needed more space. In April this year the business moved to a new unit at 8 Betts Avenue which is across the road. The new workshop is about three times larger and they have gone from having two ramps to five! There is also a dedicated tyre bay here.


The extra space means


that not only can Dave and his team handle more work, but they can get things done more efficiently as they are able to work on more vehicles at any one time.

offer all the services you would expect from an established and experienced team of professionals including: servicing,


exhausts,


a i r - c o n d i t i o n i n g , diagnostics and fault- finding, cambelts, brakes and batteries as well as tyres and MOT’s. There is a good selection of tyres in stock but with multiple daily deliveries if they don’t have what you want they can get it in. Naturally, if a vehicle is in for a regular service and the technicians find some work that needs doing, they will offer advice and check with the owner before carrying out any work.


The same applies when


it comes to MOT’s. Should the vehicle fail, the team will check before carrying out the work. Of course, having a trusted workshop carry out your MOT means

With a fully equipped


workshop the team of technicians are able to work on any make and model of vehicle that should come through the doors. But for Dave and Angie this is half the story. The husband and wife team pride themselves on offering an honest and reliable service. This is where the team of staff come in. Dave will only work with people he knows and trusts and this gives customers


the reassurance that they will get the same consistent level of excellent


service.


Joining Dave in the workshop is Chris Andrews. Chris had been at Richard Pipe Engineering for 15 years and shares Dave’s drive to work to a high standard. In fact, when they first took over at Richard Pipe the team was Dave, Angie and Chris, now there are 13 members of staff!


Joining Dave and


Angie are their twin sons, Harry and Josh. The boys showed an interest in joining the business and so have started their


apprenticeships and are an important part of the future of Dave Chapman Ltd. Likewise, their daughter Charlie works on the accounts and so this really is a family business in the truest sense.


This modern business


includes an impressive online presence. Dave Chapman Ltd has a great website which details everything the team offer as well as giving customers the opportunity to buy tyres online. In fact, the team even offer an automated diary system which sends customers an MOT reminder via


text message. All this contributes towards offering the best possible customer service.


There are five


loan cars available to keep you on the road whilst yours is in the workshop. Dave Chapman Ltd pride themselves on attention to detail and honest reliable service. The number of regular customers they have says all you need to know about the quality of the work and the level of customer service.
