Nestled on the Cornish clifftops on the most southerly point of Britain, rests an award-winning craft distillery taking provenance and purity to another level.
The Curio small-batch distillery has created a range of artisan spirits that dares to be different, being inspired by fragrant botanicals and natural ingredients that reflect the culture and heritage of its Cornish roots.
Handcrafted in Mullion, Curio is the outcome of years of hard work, dedication, consultation and a love of the sublime.
Curio spirits were conceived by husband and wife team, William and Rubina Tyler- Street who became curious about setting up a bespoke spirits brand in 2012, and celebrated seeing their first bottles take to the optics in December 2014.
They invested in two small stills, a rotary evaporator and lots of time and experimentation with the idea of creating a range of spirituous beverages to keep on satisfying their adventurous nature and that of the consumer.
Curio Rock Samphire Gin came first, then Peruvian Cocoa Nib Vodka, Cardamom Vodka then Cornish Cup punch. Using Cornish pure natural spring water for distilling, the couple work with local suppliers whenever possible and hand forage ingredients like rock samphire from the clifftops close to the distillery.
Curio Rock Samphire Gin is a fusion of coastal heritage with fresh, hand-foraged botanicals and pristine Cornish springwater. The quadruple-distilled premium gin is infused with 15 fragrant botanicals including Kombu seaweed and the signature rock samphire.
Rock samphire lends a citrus, peppery and floral hue to present a distinctively alluring taste.
This gin is just one of the inspired creations attracting waves of plaudits from as far away as Hong Kong, alongside the celebrated cardamom vodka favoured by bartenders seeking to get creative.

ingredients to intrigue the discerning imbiber. Water for distilling is sourced from a natural spring on the dramatic Bodmin Moor, embedded in the purifying granite.
In just three years Curio Rock Samphire Gin has won a coveted gold medal in the Spirits Business Gin Masters, a silver in the International Wine and Spirits Competition and a silver from Taste of the West. Curio Spirits was also nominated for Gin Producer of 2017, in the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Neat over ice with just a slice of lime will allow you to discover all the aromas and undertones of the gin; every sip will bring something different.
The natural salinity and fragrance of the rock samphire coupled with the undertone of star anise will transport you on the cliffs of Cornwall.
Gin with tonic is, naturally, one of the best ways to showcase a gin’s flavour. It’s recommended that you serve Curio over ice with Franklin’s light tonic, a slice of lime, few juniper berries and sprig of samphire for the perfect G&T.
Curio Rock Samphire gin is also a great
ingredient for cocktails.
The Cornish Breeze, for example, using Curio gin, Doorly’s white rum, Plum infused Sake and lavender bitter.
It is a gastronomic spirit, served frozen with a plate of Falmouth oysters for a very Cornish take on the Russian vodka and caviar, the salinity of the gin will pair with a number of foods. Of course any Cornish seafood will be a perfect match for a very Cornish Curio gin.
