Colt Supports Hybrid Network Connections to Google Cloud with Colt Dedicated Cloud Access

Colt Dedicated Cloud Access helps extend customers’ networks to Google Cloud’s global network

Colt Technology Services have announced support for Google Cloud Partner Interconnect, a service from Google Cloud that allows customers to connect to the Google Cloud Platform from anywhere. Google Cloud Partner Interconnect is a new product in the Google Cloud Interconnect family. Last September, Google announced Dedicated Interconnect, which provides higher- speed and lower cost connectivity than VPN, and has become the go-to solution to connect on-premise data centres with the cloud. With Partner Interconnect, customers can now choose Colt

to provide connectivity from their facility to the nearest Google edge point of presence. In addition, they will also be able to select from a variety of subrate interface speeds varying from 50Mbps to 10Gbps. “Partner Interconnect gives Google Cloud customers even

more connectivity choices for hybrid environments,” said John Veizades, product manager, Google Cloud. “Together with Colt, we are making it easier for customers to extend their on-prem infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform.” “Colt’s Dedicated Cloud Access service provides customers with secure and reliable private network connectivity to Google

Cloud services,” said Peter Coppens, Vice President Product Portfolio, Colt Technology Services. “Colt’s Dedicated Cloud Access service gives businesses a superior cloud networking experience when compared to the public internet. This enables an agile and on-demand cloud environment that is critical for customers’ digital transformation journeys.”

Ipswitch Now Offers Cloud Performance, Usage and Billing Monitoring in WhatsUp Gold

Ipswitch®, producer of award-winning and easy to use secure file transfer and network management software, today announced WhatsUp® Gold 2018 with major enhancements, including performance monitoring of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure cloud deployments, Meraki cloud managed wireless systems, Dell Compellent storage devices and Outlook 365. Ipswitch’s customers now have an at-a- glance dashboard and an interactive map for visibility into the status and performance of networks, servers, storage devices and applications across on-premises and cloud with a single network interface. “IT professionals wear multiple hats and can’t afford to invest

large amounts of time trying to extract the information they need from disparate management tools,” said Austin O’Malley, Chief Product Officer at Ipswitch. “The latest version of WhatsUp Gold meets the growing needs of our customers with even smarter discovery, a new overview dashboard to view key metrics and overall health quickly, and greatly expanded out-of-the-box support to monitor all facets of their on-premises and cloud IT environments.” WhatsUp Gold 2018 delivers automatic discovery of your networked environment and displays your entire physical, virtual and cloud environment in a unique interactive map to

enable truly proactive end-to-end performance monitoring and troubleshooting. Unlike competitor products, there is no need to learn different tools to gain insights into the various components of your environment. “I wanted to be in control of what was scanned, and the saved

scan window makes this easy to do,” said Timothy Walsh, Senior IT Architect at American Electric Power Company. “I was up and running within a short time with little concern that I’d missed anything. The new dashboards come with standards that allow me to see my devices and any problems quickly and easily. The ability to modify my dashboards and share new ones also makes this a powerful tool. It can be used to setup a network operations monitoring center or just a local dashboard that I look at on my desktop. The flexibility is there for either use.” WhatsUp Gold gives users comprehensive monitoring including network devices, network traffic, servers (including Windows and Linux), hypervisors (including VMWare and Hyper-V), storage devices (including NetApp, EMC and Dell Compellent, wireless devices (including Cisco Meraki), web servers (including IIS and Apache), Java environments, cloud environments availability (for both AWS and Azure), and applications including Outlook 365 – all through a single interface.
