Audi TT Roadster

The Audi TT Roadster fascinates with its puristic sports car character, distinctive design, excellent dynamics and groundbreaking technology. One highlight is Audi virtual cockpit, the digital instrument cluster. Combined fuel consumption in l/100 km: 6.9 – 4.7 (34.1 – 50.0 US mpg) Combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 158 – 126 (254.3 – 202.8 g/mi) (Figures vary depending on engine/transmission/wheels/tires)

Convertible top As with all of Audi’s convertibles, the Audi TT Roadster has a cloth top. Its flat, sleek line harmonizes perfectly with the sporty design. At 39 kilograms (86.0 lb), the top is very light and doesn’t compromise the 280- liter (9.9 cu ft) luggage compartment. The standard electric drive system lowers or raises it in around 10 seconds, even while driving at speeds up to around 50 km/h (31.1 mph). The soft top has a taut fit, and its excellent sound insulation has earned it the name “acoustic top.” Audi offers a power extending mesh wind deflector and headroom heating for the S sport seats as options. The leather seat covers, another option, contain a special pigment that prevents their surfaces from heating up too much in the sun.

Body and design The body of the Audi TT Roadster is very light thanks to an intelligent composite construction concept with a high percentage of aluminum. With the 1.8 TFSI, the open-top sports car has a curb weight (without driver) of just 1,300 kilograms (2,866.0 lb). The body has been specially reinforced at the sills and the A-pillars. Two fixed steel roll-over bars protect the passengers in the event of a rollover. They, too, are a characteristic TT feature.

Many design details of the 4.18-meter (13.7 ft) long two-seater are reminiscent of the classic original model from 1999, while some new, more angular facets have also been added. Take the headlights, for example. Optionally available in LED or Matrix LED technology, they are technical and aesthetic masterpieces.

Drive system

The engine lineup comprises three four-cylinder units: the 1.8 TFSI, the 2.0 TFSI and the 2.0 TDI – optionally available as ultra or with quattro all- wheel drive. The 2.0 TDI ultra comes off the production line with manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The 1.8 TFSI is available with the optional seven-speed S tronic, while the 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TDI quattro receive the six-speed S tronic and quattro all-wheel drive tuned for more sporty driving.

Engine lineup 1.8 TFSI with 132 kW (180 hp) 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI quattro with 169 kW (230 hp) 2.0 TDI ultra and 2.0 TDI quattro with 135 kW (184 hp)

Suspension The TT Roadster features sophisticated solutions such as progressive steering and a four-link rear suspension. Wheel-selective torque control rounds out the quattro drive system. The Audi drive select dynamic handling system and the Audi magnetic ride damper control system are available as options. Interior and equipment

The interior of the open two-seater is elegant with its sleek, lightweight sport seats. All displays are show in the digital Audi virtual cockpit. The knobs for the standard air conditioning are integrated into the air vents. Operation is focused entirely on the driver and follows an easy-to- understand logic. The MMI terminal on the center console has just six buttons. In combination with MMI navigation plus, the rotary/push- button control is equipped with a touchpad. Voice control via seat belt microphone and the multifunction steering wheel take operating comfort to an even higher level. The Audi connect module supplements the MMI navigation plus. It uses high-speed LTE technology to bring the brand’s online services into the car, including online media streaming. The Audi smartphone interface connects the smartphone to the car and delivers content seamlessly to the Audi virtual cockpit via USB. The top-of-the-line solution when it comes to hi-fi is the Bang & Olufsen sound system. Its amplifier drives twelve speakers, including two center speakers and two bass boxes, with 680 watts of power through 14 channels. The lineup of driver assistance systems extends from Audi side assist to Audi active lane assist and traffic sign recognition to park assist with display of the surroundings and a rearview camera.
