OTS PB and OTS AF oil test sets now offer greater support for withstand testing
Megger has further increased the The new FLIR DM66
multimeter FLIR has released the new FLIR
DM66 electrical and field-service true-root mean square (True-RMS) multimeter. The DM66 is said to be ideal for
commercial electricians, automation field service, and electronics techni- cians installing and maintaining electrical and electronic systems. Equipped with variable frequency drive (VFD) mode and an unmatched feature set, the DM66 is said to be easy to use, durable, and offers long- term stability and quality for extended field use. The compact, ergonomic DM66
offers intuitive on-screen menu navigation and accessible buttons that allow for one-handed operation. The flashing backlight and audible indication simplifies the task of checking wiring connections and switching operation in noisy work environments. With broad DMM test functions, including low-impedance (LoZ) mode, temperature (Type-K thermo- couple), and extended voltage measurement range up to 600 Volts, the DM66 has all the features you need in one tool. It can measure AC/DC voltage, current (A, mA, μA), frequency, resistance and continuity, diode, capacitance, and temperature. For non-contact voltage detection,
the DM66 features a visual indicator and audible beep tones proportional to the field strength. Technicians can use attachable test leads for contact voltage detection, allowing for a more precise indication of live wires. The DM66 is CAT IV-300V and CAT
III-600V safety category rated, IP40 ingress protection rated and 2 meter (6.6 feet) drop-test rated.

Worldwide Independent Power June 2018
versatility of its latest OTS PB and OTS AF oil test sets by adding support for withstand testing. This extra functionality, which will be included as standard with all new instru- ments, complements the existing features that have made this range so popular, including ease of use, ease of cleaning, positive adjustment of electrode spacing, and the ability to test oil samples with volumes as small as 150 ml. While withstand testing for insulating oils and fluids is no longer included in major national and international standards, many users find this test useful, as it is fast and easy to perform. It is also required by some in-house stan- dards and, where historic withstand data
is available for the asset under test, it yields new measurements that can be directly compared with and trended alongside the older results. OTS AF oil test set Withstand testing is
now offered by all five oil test sets in the current Megger range: the OTS60PB and OTS80PB, which are 60 kV and 80 kV models well-suited for use in the field, and the OTS60AF, OTS80AF and OTS100AF, which are 60 kV, 80 kV and 100 kV models optimised for use in the laboratory. All of these test sets are suitable for use
with mineral, silicon, high molecular weight hydrocarbon (HMWH) and ester – both synthetic and natural – insulating liquids.

New wireless Input and Pulse Counter available
Carlo Gavazzi has launched the SHJWIN, a new wireless digital input module which can also be used to count pulses from energy meters (gas/water/electric) and other sources. The module has 4 x inputs that can be
configured individually either as digital contact inputs or pulse count inputs, from class B SO outputs usually found on energy meters. Fast and easy to install; its compact design makes it ideal for instal- lation in a junction or wall box, or anywhere where space is restricted. The module boasts a wireless range to 700m in free air. Each module can also function as a repeater, extending the maximum free air range up to 2.1km. All count values are stored locally in a non-volatile memory within the module itself, pulses can still be recorded even if the wireless path is interrupted. The count values are transferred to the main controller when wireless coverage is
restored. The internal count buffer can store values up to 99999999 and is fully scaleable, and has an automatic roll-over function when the maximum count value is reached. The SHJWIN is used as part of a Dupline® system. Dupline® bus wiring topology is completely free which means the installation can be carried out using the lowest cost route rather than just multi dropping from sensor to sensor.
