“We are marking this special anniversary with a year-long celebra-

tion titled ‘A Legacy of Love.’ There will be an anniversary-themed event almost every month beginning in May. My husband Les and I have hosted intimate dinner fundraisers at our home each spring for many years; it’s one of the ways we enjoy contributing to Fraternity House, Inc.’s mission. This year, that event will be expanded to serve as our main anniversary observation and we hope that many of our friends and supporters will come celebrate with us. The broader series of events includes intimate meals in private homes, special dinner concerts, and full Broadway productions. A schedule of events will be posted on our website by mid-April, along with links to purchase tickets. There will certainly be something to appeal to every taste,” said Anderson. When asked to share a story that stands out in his memories, Anderson said, “There have been so many residents who have touched me deeply over my 20 years with the organization. It would be unfair to single out just one. I will say that some of my most vivid memories are several years of walking with a resident or two (or pushing their wheelchair) the entire length of AIDS Walk San Diego, because they just had to finish. Some of those years we were the very last people to cross the finish line, but I wouldn’t trade a minute of that time for anything.” “Throughout our history, Fraternity House, Inc. has been unique

in its emphasis on providing warm, caring homes. Along with that comes numerous individuals and organizations who have taken our mission, and residents, to heart. A history major from CSUSM is working with us to compile our history and archive those caring individuals and their stories--our past board and staff, and the residents we have both welcomed and bid farewell to over our 30 years. Once compiled we will share this history with the Lambda

Archives to ensure their legacy is never forgotten. If you have a story to share, please write to me at matt@fraternityhouse-inc.org,” said Harding. “May officially marks 30 years and we will be launching a new Pledge Club. We will be inviting 30 individuals to commit to a gift of $30 per month to support the work at both of our houses. We are also asking supporters to consider leaving a legacy by placing Fraternity House, Inc. in their estates, will, or trust. This will allow us to form an endowment and ensure our loving work continues,” said Harding. “Over the 30 years there are many people to thank, including HOPWA, San Diego HIV Funding Collaborative, AIDS Walk and the Center, Martinis Above Fourth,The Rage Monthly, the North County LGBTQ Resource Center, Townspeople, Christie’s Place, Marisol Apartments and Being Alive. All of our strong nonprofit partners and supporters from across the community. I also would like to recognize our caregivers, who are the backbone of our organization, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most especially our wonderful Program Manager Cristal Kacirek,” said Harding.
