HEALTH & BEAUTY - BMI BMI HOSPITALS NEW FACILITIES IN BIRMINGHAM

The BMI Priory Hospital has recently invested £4million into new facilities, a new Imaging Centre, a new Cancer Centre and Paediatrics Ward.

The new Imaging Centre was declared officially open by England International and Warwickshire Cricketer, Ian Bell MBE. It houses state-of-the-art MRI and CT scanners which will help diagnose a multitude of different conditions, including orthopaedic, spinal, oncological, cardiac, neurological, urological and gynaecological, giving patients a quick diagnostic turnaround, as well as the peace of mind they are in the hands of true professionals. It aims to expand the variety of scans available and develop the imaging services already provided by the hospital.

Patients at BMI The Edgbaston Hospital now have the opportunity to recover from injury in zero gravity – thanks to NASA technology and a specialist bit of kit.

The AlterG® treadmill encases a person’s lower body in an inflatable capsule which lifts them off their feet and reduces the weight through their legs from between 20% and 100%, allowing users to work hard without bearing their full weight. It is especially good for people who cannot otherwise move due to pain or the risk of further injury, therefore it’s great for getting orthopaedic and sports injury patients back to full fitness.
