A series of promotions have been made at national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP. Phil Roberts (left) has been promoted from senior associate to partner in recognition of his contribution to the firm and the team. Roberts, along with partner Kat Quinton, will be responsible for jointly leading the team. Senior associate Stuart Hoysted (centre) has been promoted from debt recovery team manager to debt recovery technical director. In this new, dedicated role Hoysted will use his extensive technical legal knowledge to ensure the team stays at the forefront of the industry as it develops and will be responsible for providing training, support and technical legal guidance to the team. Finally, Anna O’Reilly has been promoted from team co-ordinator to team manager after a year in the role. O’Reilly is responsible for much of the day-to-day management of the large team, including recruitment, management of HR-related issues, financial reporting and much more.


Verisona Law has announced the appointment of professional services marketing specialist, Kirsty Hughes, as the firm’s new marketing manager. Having worked in the legal sector for over a decade, Hughes arrives at Verisona Law with a wealth of experience in marketing professional services. She began her career working for the insolvency department of one of ‘The Big Four’ accountancy firms, KPMG; then after three years joined Coffin Mew Solicitors. In January 2013, Hughes took her first full- time role in the marketing team as a marketing executive and began her studies with the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Three years later, she was promoted within the team to marketing manager.


Law firm Trethowans has kicked off the new year with the senior appointment of Karl Cameron as a partner at its Southampton office. Cameron joins the commercial litigation team with more than 15 years’ experience in the legal industry, specialising in commercial litigation and with particular interest in professional negligence and property litigation. In his new role he will advise Trethowans’ clients, which range from local family businesses to big name national brands, on a wide range of issues. These include disputes arising from property transactions, construction projects or financial services. Cameron is commended in the revered The Legal 500 list and named in the prestigious Chambers UK legal directory.


Former Samsung Electronics vice-president Graham Long has joined Onecom to help lead its specialism in supplying connected audio-visual solutions to businesses and the leisure industry. Long joins the Whiteley- based communications provider after nearly a decade at Samsung, where he was responsible for Samsung’s Enterprise Business in the UK and Ireland. The appointment comes as Onecom launches Evolve AV to provide combined connectivity and audio- visual solutions led by Samsung technology.

BH Live has appointed David Christie to head up its hospitality division. With a team of more than 200 employees, hospitality services are provided by BH Live at high- profile entertainment, cultural, sporting and event venues across the south of England. Christie has more than 20 years’ experience in the catering industry. He has also developed multinational food and beverage propositions and led hospitality operations with organisations including Sage Gateshead, Costa Coffee and Compass Group.


Paris Smith has elevated 11 team members at the start of the firm’s landmark 200-year anniversary. Phil Baldwin and Nicola Davies (dispute resolution), Sean Hogan (property), Leyla Whitlingum (tax and estate planning), and Heather Wiltshire (property) have been promoted to associates at the firm. Will Hadley (property), Claire Merritt (employment), Ed Watson (property), Chris Holliss (dispute resolution), Clare McCauley (company commercial), and Elizabeth Power (tax and estate) are now partners of the firm. Fifty new team members have now been recruited in the past 18 months. The firm now has 43 partners and a total complement of over 200 working at its offices in Southampton and Winchester.


Irwin Mitchell has announced 10 new associate and senior associates across its offices in the South East. In Southampton Nicola Maier (workplace illness) and Rob Coleridge (commercial litigation) have been promoted to senior associate. The firm’s Gatwick office has promoted Aurelia Butler Ball (commercial), Charlotte Sloan (employment), Clementine Burch and Thomas Barnard (litigation) to senior associate. George De Silvo (corporate) and Vanessa Horn (real estate) have become associates. In the Newbury office, Sarah Paton in tax, trusts and estates has moved up to associate, while in Chichester, real estate solicitor Lorraine Rose has also been promoted. Nationally, Irwin Mitchell announced 117 associate and senior associate promotions.
