LIVE 24-SEVEN - MUSIC

MUS IC & F I LM WITH ED JAMES

Heart Breakfast

Introducing Gemma Hill...

This month I’m going to introduce you to my on-air partner in crime, Gemma Hill! She’s co-hosted Heart Breakfast in the West Midlands with me for a year now and I genuinely haven’t had as much fun EVER on the radio... she’s just as crazy as she seems!

If you listen to Heart Breakfast you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. For those who haven’t yet listened, I’ve interviewed Gemma to give you a flavour of what to expect…

What’s your most embarrassing moment? Really!? Unfortunately, I have these moments daily. I could fill this article with ‘cringe moments’ however, I’d have to say my most embarrassing came when I was at school. I was around 17, that awkward age between being a girl and a woman; when you’re painfully self-conscious and just want everyone to think you’re cool. It was the end-of-year school dinner and ball, I’d received my invitation the month before, had skim read it and left it behind the clock in my mum’s living room - never to be touched again. It was a fancy-dress party and I had just the outfit, a giant Frog suit; complete with a giant head and very limited room to see out of. My mum dropped me off at the venue, I walked proudly towards the door and greeted by my teacher who opened it and immediately burst into laughter along with everyone else. Incidentally, they were all in FORMAL DRESS and not fancy dress, as I had read. I never lived it down, but I still have the frog suit!

Megan Fox

What would your school teachers say about you? Gemma will never get a job…

Which celeb would play you in a film about your life and why? I think Megan Fox would really get to grips with the gritty storyline of my life. Not only does she have the acting skills to bring to life my complex, deep but ultimately gifted character…she also has banging cheek bones and eyes like the ocean; baring an uncanny resemblance to my physical appearance...

What would be a perfect day for you in the West Midlands? Up the Lickey Hills with a bottle of prosecco and somebody else’s dog.

What’s the strangest date that you’ve ever been on? I had a date that ended with the guy singing Ronan Keating ‘When You Say Nothing At All’ with his eyes closed throughout… When he finished he opened them slowly and waited for me to clap. It was truly, horrendous!
