EASY LEARNING CURVE With new equipment comes new challenges, especially in the area of data management from the UniLinc system. “It’s been a relatively easy learning curve for all staff involved,” said Schultz. “Just a matter of training the new inputs and wash/dry cycles. Data is being utilized by laundry and hotel management to monitor shift efficiency and machine health.” “When the customer is com- mitted to the new way of doing laundry, training is not very dif- ficult,” said Calverley. “Reports are analyzed daily for any prob- lems, maintenance is strictly fol- lowed when advised and when the staff are alerted to any functioning problem, they act quickly. The lodge is now on the TotalVue system, which is new to UniMac, so there is ongoing conversation about the system and the reports.”

commitment to this effort,” said Schultz. “These designa- tions dictate that the natural environment is constantly being considered in every hotel deci- sion including, of course, our laundry department, which is a resource-heavy operation. With our sourcing of new laundry machines, efficiency of resourc- es was a priority. This was due to environmental concerns, but also paired nicely with eco- nomic benefits of being more resource-efficient.”

THE SALE IS NEVER OVER “Equipment lasts a long time,” said Calverley. “Banff Park Lodge will not be looking for replacement equipment for at least 20 years. But I’ll always make an annual call on them to be sure they are happy. They love the new equipment, the most up-to-date UniMac offers, and the benefits it offers.” n
