So all three Christmas trees are up; they went up in November, which I know many of you will find ridiculously early, but for me December is so busy I don’t have time to fit everything and everyone in, let alone put up three lovely trees…and anyway I love Christmas beyond measure, so the ‘busy excuse’ suits me fine!
The team and I always like to take the time to say thank you within our December issue: thank you to our advertisers for their continued support; to our readers for their loyalty and feedback; and to our contributors, who add their own weight to our fabulous title.
Christmas means so many things to so many people, it is one of the most important religious dates for some and yet it is also a time of giving and celebration with family and friends. I love nothing more than to see every seat full around the dinner table with family and friends (the family we pick for ourselves), all enjoying what is a very magical day. It’s also important to spare a thought for those on their own – share the joy this Christmas wherever we can.

On a funnier note, do you know that apparently seven out of ten of us experience ‘gift envy’ at Christmas? We apparently buy presents for friends, more so than family, that we later think ‘we’ll keep for ourselves’? Can’t say I’ve ever done that – I have doubled up on gifts when buying for friends – one for her and one for me…that’s sort of envy, I suppose!
Anyway, setting envy aside, please do enjoy every moment at this magical time of year. …
