  At Morgan Boats in Frankfort they are fi nishing out the 43 plug as a sportfi shing boat.


next season. There are no major projects this winter, but more than enough storage customers to keep them busy. They do have several electronic upgrades to install and a Morris 42 will be coming in this fall, but it is unclear at this time what work she will need to have done. One major project that took place at the


yard was adding solar panels, 120 of them, on one of their storage buildings. This is made a huge diff erence in their power bill. November is safety month at the yard


and they have two meetings a week going over safety issues and regulations to make sure they are operating in a safe mode.


Wayne Beal’s Boat Shop in Jonesport


has a 46 in the mould. She will be fi nished off at Feeney’s Boat Shop in Cutler as a lobster boat for a fi sherman from Southwest Harbor. She will be powered with 1000-hp


Caterpillar. A Wayne Beal 42 will be going to Deer


Isle where she will be fi nished off by her owner as a lobster boat. Another Wayne Beal 42 will be shipped


to Dana Faulkingham to be fi nished off as a lobster boat powered with a 750-hp John Deere.


They have four or fi ve more orders after


that one being a 46 extended to a 50 for a fi sherman out on Vinalhaven. In another section of the shop is a


Crowley 28, hull #1, which has been gone over top to bottom. She did not have a top when she came in and they laid up a Wayne Beal 32 top and with a little modifi cation fi t perfectly. If she is not sold you will likely see her racing next season, powered with a 717 cu. in. Chevrolet gasoline engine which will be going to Wisconsin soon to be made race re ady.
