As reported in previous edions, the Parish Council has sought views, on a modest proposal, to extend the current Toddler Play Park, adjacent to the Needles Eye Café, to accommodate the needs of older primary‐aged children.


The Parish Council has arranged a day ‐long public presentaon of the proposal, conducted an online and paper survey of opinion, discussed the proposals with residents, represenng a wide range of opinions, and has also discussed the proposals with NFDC (which itself has received two conflicng peons).


The key reasons the Parish Council favours providing addional facilies, as an extension to the toddler play park, are that it would:





Provide equipment for a wider range of children.


The Parish Council recognises that the sing of addional play facilies, would be a sensive issue for some and have therefore considered all other possible sites and has come to the conclusion that:

Be subject to informal oversight which is a feature emphasized by Play England.


Encourage older youngsters who currently use (and somemes commandeer) the toddler provision, to use the new facility instead.





Be adjacent to the café and public toilets.
