Nowin its 19th year of production, theDentonCityContemporary Ballet&DentonDanceConservatory join forces once again to bring you AGift forEmma! This is a heart-warming story of a young orphan girlwhowishes, beyond everything else, to be a dancer.When she is blown into the dance studio by the powerfulArcticWind, she encounters aworldwhere all of her favorite toys dance!As she enters “TheGarden ofDreams,” shemeets beautiful butterflies, scary spiders, faeries&pixies!HerGuardianAngel leads her across “The Sea of Miracles,” throughWaves, Seaweed, pastMermaids, Jellyfish, and even Poseidon himself! She finally arrives at the “Palace of the Snow Princess,”where shewishes upon a star, and receives theGift ofDance! Ms.Racina-Torre has combined the delight&joy of the holiday season with thewondrous imaginings of her childhood in this fantasy in dance for the entire family! PlanoMetropolitanBallet, funded in part by the city of Plano, is cel- ebrating its 31st anniversary seasonwith SleepingBeauty, presented at theCourtyard Theater. Professional dancersTagirGalimov asKing Stefan andBrianCunninghamas Prince Phillipwill join this year’s seniors:AmandaLaPorte as theQueen,CassadyKreuser as Flora, andMikaylaWalker asMerriweather.HannahBeaudreauwill dance asAurora andPhoebe Salas asMaleficent in this original bal- let.PlanoMetropolitanBallet is under theArtisticDirection of CindiLawrenceHanson.Choreographers areCindiLawrence Hanson,MadelaineBoyce,DianeLine, and SydneyRitchie.
