he 2017 Innovator of the Year award was presented to FEINGUSS BLANK GmbH of Germany for


their unique casting identification tracking system at the Investment Casting Institute’s 64th Annual Technical Conference and Equipment Exposition in Covington, KY. For more than 50 years FEINGUSS


BLANK GmbH has been producing highly precise parts, as well as complex ready-to-use components including surface finishing. The increasing demand of the market and their own risk management required unique identification of each single part during the complete investment casting process from wax injection to shipping at any time, as well as during the complete product lifetime. They felt that all production data of the concerned batch had to be available without extensive and expensive searching. So FEINGUSS BLANK GmbH


developed a code mark, which is easily inserted into the wax die mold and is interchangeable. This code mark contains a FEINGUSS BLANK in-house code for unique identification and
