ADE’s 6th ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 30th, 2017
T
he Association for Decentralised Energy and the Energy Institute will be holding its sixth annual Heat Conference on Thursday, 30th November
2017. This year’s event intends to incorporate a broader decentralised energy remit, says the Association. Heat and Decentralised Energy 2017
takes place on November 30th at The Crystal, 1 Siemens Brothers Way, London E16 1GB. Registration will be open from 9.00am CHAIR: Louise Kingham OBE FEI,
CEO of the Energy Institute (confirmed) KEYNOTE ADDRESS: Juergen
Maier, CEO, Siemens UK (invited) * MINISTERIAL ADDRESS:
Claire Perry MP, Minister of State for Climate Change and Industry (invited) Now is the time for the heat and decentralised energy sectors to show leadership.
The world is changing. With a minority Government in office and our Brexit position still unclear, political uncertainty abounds. It is incumbent upon us to take the reins and show how we can drive the sector forward. As an industry, we are making great strides into improving customer relations and providing services that meet the actual needs of the market but there is still room for a step change. This conference will explore the shift needed to achieve a competitive, cost effective, low carbon energy system with our customers at the very heart of what we do. Heat and Decentralised Energy 2017 will look to this vision, examine outstanding examples of where it’s already being delivered and explore how we can better respond to our customer needs. To find out more about the Programme and book tickets please see the Heat Conference website. Contact John Bryant (email:

heat: from electric heating to heat network infrastructure and smarter energy systems. THE VENUE: The Crystal in London is home to the world's largest exhibition on
the future of cities, as well as one of the world's most sustainable buildings and events venues. Delegates are encouraged to travel to the conference by public transport. The following websites may be of use: •The Transport for London website has a Journey Planner tool that may be of assistance. The closest stations are Royal Victoria DLR (2 minute walk) or Canning Town (10 minute walk) for the Jubilee Line. •For those coming on foot, the Walkit website may be useful. •If you require a taxi, we recommend Green Tomato Cars - their entire fleet is
made up of Toyota Prius cars ABOUT THE CRYSTAL: Siemens opened the Crystal in 2012 as a global hub for
debate on sustainable living and development. Since opening, over 100,000 people each year have visited the interactive exhibition; thousands of meetings and events have been hosted in our sustainable events venue; and numerous major projects have been undertaken in the Siemens office on-site. The Crystal sets the benchmark for sustainable building design. It is the only building in the world to achieve the highest certification in both the BREEAM and LEED schemes, as well as many other accreditations. Siemens technologies throughout the building ensure the highest energy efficiency and CO2 standards are met.

DON’T MISS THE IDGTE CONFERENCE
The IDGTE’s 9th International Gas TurbineConference will be held on 22nd and 23rd November 2017
The IDGTE 9th International Gas Turbine Conference will be held at Wyboston Lakes Executive Centre near St. Neots, Bedfordshire. The event is set to deliver an excellent technical programme. Places can now be booked.
Since the IDGTE International Gas Turbine conference was first introduced 18 years ago, IDGTE has successfully run this biennial event with top quality international speakers bringing the very latest developments in gas turbine technology and operations. Over the last few years there has been a strong resurgence of interest in gas-fuelled plant in the UK – initially based on peaking gas engines, but with increasing recognition that flexible and efficient gas turbines are essential to replace the large amounts of coal and nuclear generation now facing imminent closure.
fired generation has been reducing since the peak in 2012 and the major part of the shortfall in electricity supplies has been delivered by existing CCGT plants and the increase in output from renewables. The increasing capacity contribution from renewable generation brings essential reductions in CO2 emissions, its inherent unpredictability also increases the requirement for flexible and clean generation which can deliver reliable balancing capacity for extended periods when needed. lor
Register as a delegate and join with others in the industry for this unique and prestigious event via the IDGTE website listed above.
