JCB LiveLink for Power offers real operational benefits
GENSET MONITORING
JCB Power Products has taken power generation fleet management and operation to a new level, with the availability of JCB LiveLink for Power across its full range of generators. Standard on all models above 60kVA and optional below that output, JCB LiveLink for Power allows customers to access realtime operational information on a global basis, reducing downtime, maximising utilisation and adding to fleet security, reports UKPN.
J
onathan Garnham, Managing Director of JCB Power Products, tells UKPN: “JCB LiveLink for Power on generators from 65kVA to 600kVA will radically
change the way fleets of generators are monitored and managed.” He explains: “Our competitor cannot offer customers a telematics solution which is capable of delivering so much useful data. It is the ultimate customer benefit and will lead to increased uptime, greater profitability and reduced cost of ownership.” JCB LiveLink for Power - reports the
company - provides customers with the necessary knowledge and working data to operate specific power generation equipment remotely, boosting efficiency and ensuring timely maintenance scheduling. The system monitors fuel use, operating
times, power delivery, coolant temperatures, light loading, phase imbalance and many
other operating parameters, to allow fleet managers to maximise utilisation and to ensure that the correct generator is in use on site.
Power continuity is vital for any electrical requirement, particularly for critical back-up services or for prime running. The JCB LiveLink for Power telematics system has been designed to ensure that companies have the information to maximise availability and utilisation. In addition, JCB LiveLink for Power provides location information, delivering a geofencing capability to alert dealers in the case of unauthorised machine movement. A generator is equipped with an accelerom-
eter which will wake the system if the equipment is moved. Out of agreed hours operation can also be reported, ensuring that rental companies maximise their revenues. The fuel monitoring facility will also warn of

sudden fuel use, indicating possible theft on site.
Though aimed at the JCB Power Products
range of generators, JCB LiveLink is used across the whole JCB machinery range and can therefore be used for a mixed fleet, to deliver a total management solution. Operational data can be accessed remote-
ly by the generator fleet manager, by end users and by JCB Power Products dealers, to ensure that regular service and mainte- nance can be more effectively scheduled. LiveLink for Power operates with standard

Unlike some competitive systems, there is
no time limit on data storage, providing an invaluable historical reference for fleet managers. Generator history and machine alerts allow engineers to take the correct spare parts to reduce downtime, with online diagnostics preventing unnecessary site visits. Through the JCB LiveLink for Power portal, customers can access reports to suit their individual operation. A large amount of essential data is provided in clear, easy to read real-time graphs and reports, that can be customised to meet the needs of the business. Utilisation pie charts clearly demonstrate
the output of the generator in percentage of load, providing managers with easy to access performance and productivity infor- mation. Complete fleet overviews, with real- time generator locations, can also help to maximise fleet efficiency. Introduced in 2016, JCB Power Products currently has more than 1,000 generators working in the field globally utilising the many benefits of JCB LiveLink for Power.
