BROADENING CHILDREN’S HORIZONS IN MINCHINHAMPTON
Academic success is high on the agenda at independent co-ed prep Beaudesert Park School in Minchinhampton, but so is encouraging the 450 pupils to spend time trying new things and broadening their horizons.
Head of Geography and Year 6 Form Teacher, Euan Craig, explained; “With the luxury of plenty of facilities and space, plus a slightly longer school day than state schools, we’re able to offer a choice of more than 30 different activities from horse-riding and skate-boarding to iPad animation and papercraft. We keep the range broad – so not just sport, nor just the arts – and we change it every term. Taking a different approach, our recent community activity involved children regularly helping out at Stroud foodbank where they categorised donated food.”
