MIDDLE SCHOOL WORK CAMP
Middle School Work Camp took 17 youth and six adult leaders to Monroe County, where they worked at a variety of local service agencies. They stayed at Kirkridge Camp and did some gardening work there; a scavenger hunt provided the opportunity to explore the grounds. At the Garden of Giving, which raises produce that is distributed through local food bank-type organizations, they weeded, planted, staked, and moved rocks! Street 2 Feet provided eye-opening experiences as they helped that agency serve the needs of their clients experiencing homelessness. The Salvation Army got a clean kitchen, and residents at Pleasant Valley Manor played the game Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? with our youth. And for fun, a day at Camelbeach Water Park!
