Anti-narcotics operatives have arrested a teenager and confiscated more than half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental close to midnight Wednesday. The suspect was identified as a certain Shandy Sanon, 18 years old, a resident of Barangay Tinago in Dumaguete, a police report said. Initial police investigation showed that at around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, a joint team of the Special Operations Group, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, the Provincial Public Safety Company and the Dumaguete City Police station conducted an anti- illegal drugs operation at Barangay Taclobo in this capital.

A simple turn-over ceremony was held following a concelebrated mas s pres id ed by Dumaguete Bishop Julito Cortes and members of the Dumaguete clergy at the Bacong Church, which has been previously declared a National Cultural Treasure. Bacong Mayor Jocelyn Alviola,Vice-Mayor Lenin Alviola, members of the Bacong municipal council and other guests were present during the ceremonial turn-over by Engr.
