Pitchcare Classifieds Product News A round-up of the latest product news announced in recent weeks
THE NEW Koro® TopDrain® 1000 is available now from Campey Turf Care Systems and has been specifically designed for sports pitches and golf course fairways.
The TopDrain 1000 model joins the successful 1500 machine that harnessed the unique function of trenching, removing spoil, injecting sand and re- compacting the surface all in one operation. It also offers material and labour savings, faster processing times and less contamination than conventional methods.
REESINK TURFCARE is bringing to market a range of rear mounted tractor attachments for use with its TYM tractors.
The attachments available are finishing mowers, flail mowers, wide area mowers and rotary tillers.
The attachments, which are manufactured by Italian-based manufacturer SICMA, were chosen to give customers even more value from their tractor investment.
Available in the range are two types of rotary tillers, the BH to suit a 15-30hp tractor and the RC to suit a 30-55hp tractor. Both are great for typical soil conditions thanks to the six curved blades per flange which are mounted in a spiral line.
There are two types of flail mowers available to suit both 15-30hp (TA) and 30-55hp (TE) tractors so, whether you're dealing with estate gardens or highway verges, there is a flail to help you cut through the debris.
When it comes to mowing, there are two options depending on the needs of the customer. The FA series finishing mower is available with cutting widths from 1.2m to 1.8m and, for those looking for something more productive, we have the highly versatile three deck WGM wide area mower which has an overall cutting width of 3.6m.

Both Campey and Koro (manufactured by Imants BV) have a commitment to listen to their customers, and this has resulted in a smaller one- metre machine being produced. Although smaller, there has been no compromise in quality, 1,000kg lighter (unladen) causing less surface compaction, and requires less tractor power to operate.
The sand grid created by the TopDrain is meant to complement existing drainage systems, and has been very successful working on football pitches, rugby pitches, golf courses and horse racing tracks.
The Koro TopDrain 1000 will shortly be touring the UK and Ireland on a series of special demonstration days. If you would like to see the machine in action, visit

GREENMECH has launched the Arborist 150p, a new addition to their popular Arborist range of woodchippers in response to impending changes to emissions legislation.
From 2019, Stage V Standards of the European Emission legislation come into effect, which will require all new diesel engines over 19kW (26hp) to include Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology. Because of this, it’s likely that the cost of diesel-powered units will increase. However, the new Arborist 150p is fitted with a 37hp Briggs & Straton Petrol engine which can offer almost the same performance as the higher horse- powered diesel engine of the existing Arborist 150, but at a much-reduced cost.
The models have a generous 970 x 790mm in-feed chute to accommodate a 150mm chipping capacity. The 150mm x 230mm letterbox-style in- feed throat opening makes light work of heavily forked branches and as standard comes fitted with GreenMech’s patented Disc-Blade system, giving up to 150 hours of chipping before requiring re- sharpening. Designed particularly for the disposal of waste brash, the Arborist 150 is the top selling chipper in its class in Europe.

AGGREGATE Industries, has strengthened its Lytag® offer with the launch of Sportag®, a sustainable, lightweight drainage material.
Made from Lytag’s ground-breaking secondary aggregate, Sportag is an ideal solution for land drainage applications due to its rounded shape and material properties. With a hydraulic conductivity ten times that of natural aggregates, the product is particularly suited to golf courses, including slit trenches, gravel banding and Shelton Systems, as well as sports pitches.
Sportag’s secondary aggregate composition also allows for a 30% moisture retention rate, ensuring a healthier and more consistent facility. It also reduces drought stress in hot or dry weather. Alongside this, the product’s 40% void ratio helps aid longevity, improving aeration and allowing roots to penetrate further.
