Chair Yoga. 11am-12n. Taught by Jaqueline Hepler.Chair yoga is used as a tool to make yoga poses accessible to everyone! Chair yoga is a practice that modifies yoga poses so that they can be done while seated in a chair or standing using a chair for support. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand or lack the mobil- ity to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions. Many of the basic body mechanics of the individual postures are re- tained, no matter the stance of the practitio- ner. While seated on chairs, students can do versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, and mild backbends. Chair yoga is an excellent way to relax from head to toe. This flow is also perfect for those wanting a quick way to stretch your body and relieve tension. In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can also enjoy other health ben- efits of yoga, including improved strength, flexibility and muscle tone, better breathing habits, reduction of stress and improve men-
