ARLINGTON, VA –Beginning
Thursday, August 17, customers in Newport News, Virginia, will have the opportunity to experience Lidl US, as Lidl will open its newest location and first store in Newport News that day. The new store, located at 11076 Warwick Blvd, will open at 8:00 a.m., immediately following a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:40 a.m.
The
Newport News store will be the fifth Lidl location to open in the Hampton Roads area.
Lidl US Grand Opening Events and Specials
Customers will be able to take advantage of get-them-while-you-can grand opening special offers at the new Newport News store. The first 100 customers will also receive a wooden coin for a chance to win up to $100 in Lidl gift cards. Shoppers can also sample an array of Lidl’s products and get a complimentary Lidl reusable bag while supplies last. The fun continues throughout grand opening weekend with games, activities, prizes, special deals, and giveaways.

options. All fresh and frozen seafood in
Lidl’s everyday assortment will
be certified sustainable by either the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), or the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). Toni Taylor led a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) workshop for a group of girls who live in the Seaboard Square housing community in Portsmouth. The girls, who are members of Girl Scout Troop 5163, have been learning about STEM concepts with Taylor through fun, hands-on activities at weekly meetings this spring.

From the very start, girls are natural explorers and discoverers. They look at the world around them with inquisitive eyes, make keen observations about the world around them and learn as they go. Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast is working to nurture girls’ interests in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) by providing them with opportunities to take part in activities that encourage their problem-solving skills, support their challenge-seeking instincts and put their critical thinking skills to the test.

Girl Scouts believes that all girls deserve an even playing field in educational and enrichment opportunities, which is why the organization has expanded efforts to send staff and volunteers to community centers in affordable housing communities to provide the Girl Scout program for any girl who wishes to participate.
