Donald Trump and the power of positive thinking
one should try to "Be like Trump," I do believe that there is a great deal of helpful information that can be gleaned should
from Peale’s book. One also know that too much
positive thinking can lead to delusions of grandeur.
The website
psychcentral.com
defines delusions of grandeur as “The fixed, false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, omnipotence, or wealth.” It goes on to say, “It is most often a symptom of schizophrenia, but can also be a symptom found in psychotic
or
bipolar disorders, as well as dementia (such as Alzheimer's).”
Some examples of having BY ANGELA JONES
I once read an article that tried to expose what made Donald Trump who he is today. The article suggested that one of the greatest influences in Trump’s life was Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, through his book, The Power of Positive Thinking, written in 1952. An online search of the names “Trump and Norman Vincent Peale” will reveal several
articles about the believe that possible
influence of Peale on Donald Trump’s psyche. Donald Trump’s family also attended Peale’s church in Manhattan. I do not
even Peale
expected his words to have the effect that it had on the current President of the United States.
While I am not suggesting that
delusions of grandeur could include believing one’s net worth is greater than it is, believing there are more people at one’s inauguration than there actually were or believing someone with no political experience and a “nasty” disposition could actually win an election to become President of the United States without Russian meddling.
So, although it is good to have
high self-esteem, having too large of an ego can be a sign of mental or even physical illness. I am not suggesting that the President is ill. This diagnosis came from a website. I just want people who may think it is a good idea to emulate him to be very careful. They could have one foot planted firmly in reality but the other on a banana peel.
