The 1987 gelding was a 3-time AQHA World and 8-time Reserve World as well as a multi- ple Congress winner, and recorded $85,766 in AQHA IF earnings, $36,346.68 in AQHA World Show earnings, and $3,028 in NSBA earnings. Julia Taylor Cheek, of Dallas, earned many of LT’s youth and amateur points and titles and owned him until his death. Kristin Pokluda’s young daughter, Madi- son, showed him in novice youth events in the last few years.

died on June 23. He served as AQHA executive secretary from 1968 to 1976.


Montanas Musical Sox


passed away July 5. The 27-year- old gelding had earned just under $50k in NCHA lifetime earnings and a staggering 35 youth points. In his and Tarin Rice’s younger years, they won both the Jr and Sr Schol- arship Cuttings at the Summer Spectacular and garnered many other titles and awards. Sox was the first horse Boyd Rice ever showed in the World’s Greatest Horseman Competition and will always be re- membered for his giant heart.
