busy July 8 and 9! Saturday’s stock horse/ranch horse show drew over 220 en- tries, with 20+ entries in some amateur classes! That day’s division champions were Hayden Nye (14-18), Alicia Duleba (19&o), Lance Wilson (Op), and Kaila Tomlin (WT). Sunday’s playday was also big, with division winners Clara Leinnwebber (leadline), Allyson Krienke (WT), Kylee Jordan (13&u), Samantha Oleson), Miriam Dovers (19&o), and Hunter Leinnweber and Abigail Teets (tie-Op). Casie Lisabeth Maxwell has been announced as Bay-


lor’s equestrian head coach on July 12 by Baylor University VP and Director of Athletics Mack Rhoads. Maxwell joins the Bears after spending the previous decade at Kansas State, serving as the head coach until the program was discontinued by the athletic department. Maxwell showed quarter horses in Texas as a youth before becoming a member of the 4-time Western National Champion squad at Texas A&M Univer- sity. She and her husband, Bailey, have a son, Tatum, and a daughter, Brekyn.

Clate competed in the Na- tional Jr High Rodeo Fi- nals in Lebanon, TN, June 18-24, finishing as reserve champion in chute dog- ging and third for all- around title. Horse Reba was recognized as AQHA


Reserve Horse of the Year there and received a nice saddle blanket and a $500 scholarship for Clate.
