American Jr Paint HA’s national direc-


tors were named recently, to represent AjPHA’s 14 zones and every member residing within them. They met during the AjPHA Na- tional Convention, which took place June 18 in conjunction with the AjPHA World Champi- onship Show. National directors from Okla- homa were Lauren Gralla, Nicholas Gralla, and Avery Rees, while those from Texas were Colton Baxley, Shane Burch, Teagan Goble, Grace Hayslip, Reagan Jennings, Sabine Lazo, Olivia Long, McKinley Novacek, and Saman- tha Stubblefield. Later, officers were elected, including President-Elect Sabine Lazo and Treasurer Reagan Jennings.


The 2017 SVAG FEI World Reining


Championship teams for Junior and Young Riders competing August 9-12 in Givrins, Switzerland were named by U.S. Equestrian. The Young Riders team will consist of 4 riders from across the country, including locals Dani Latimer (Marietta, OK) with Angelucci Quar- ter Horses' Fancy Sailor Oak, and Cade Mc- Cutcheon (Aubrey, TX) and Tim and Colleen McQuay’s Yellow Jersey.


Capitol Area QHA’s second and final


2017 ranch horse show, held June 24 at Llano Event Center, was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed a cool front and rare summer temper- atures in the 70s and 80s! HP champions were Kylie Baker (13&u), Addison Paulson (14-18), Teena Davis (19&o), Luke Hayden (Jr-Horse), Jodie Fuchs (Sr-Horse), Joleen Moden (Never- Won-A-Buckle), and Jenni Johnson (Walk/ Jog). Due to great shows, CAQHA plans to schedule additional ranch horse shows in 2018 and host clinics along with them.

Level 1 judgeswere announced on June 28, in- cluding Sydney Reynolds (TX), Amanda Bur- rows (OK), Matthew Martin (TX), and Kendra Smith (TX).


American Jr Paint HA and Appaloosa


Youth Assoc jointly sponsored the 2017 horse judging contest held July 1 in Fort Worth at the World Show drawing 18 sr teams and 14 jr teams. Chouteau Team #1, from Chouteau, OK, was overall high jr team, with members Grace Hudgins, Sophie McLochlin, Connor Pell, and Scout Timmins, while the Illinois QHA’s team was overall high sr team. Connor Pell, Chouteau, OK, was HP Jr, while McKenna Lindsey was overall HP Sr. Contest Coordinator Lori Wunderlich, horse providers, and exhibitors all deserve special thanks for making the contest a great success.


The ACHA Cowtown Cutting was held


July 8-9, in Watt Arena at Fort Worth’s Will Rogers Memorial Center. Circuit awards were given for each class, co-sponsored by ACHA and APHA.
