POLICE are seeking witnesses to an assault in Maidstone which left a man with face and leg injuries after he refused to buy drugs. It was reported that two men punched and kicked a man inWeek Street between 5.30am and 6am on Tuesday, June 27. The victim said he was offered
drugs by the suspects – described as in their late teens or early 20s – and when he refused, hewas attacked. The victim required treatment at hospital for his injuries. Policewere called and enquiries led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man from Maid- stone, on suspicion of assault. He was later released, pending further investigations,

A MAIDSTONE man who used racially aggravated language to- wards another at a takeaway in the town has been given a 90-day jail term suspended for a year. Lloyd Curtis Wright (36), must
also pay a £150 fine following his ap- pearance at Mid Kent Magistrates’ Court on July 5. The court heard Wright admitted using racially ag- gravated threatening, abusive or in- sulting words or behaviour towards a man at the restaurant in Gabriel’s Hill on June 7.Healso admitted car- rying a knife in Maidstone.

THE Curious Eatery at Boughton Monchelsea has been named Kent’s best restaurant. The venture, run by sisters Lesley (pictured left) and Nicole Parry (right), is one of nearly half-a-dozen businesses locally to win praise and votes in theMuddyStilettosAwards 2017. The Curious Eatery walked away

a lot and wanted to bring these in- fluences to the table – like an edible travel brochure. We just wanted to offer something fresh, fun and quirky, but not ostentatious, and it seems to be working.” The sisters also attribute their suc-
cess to holding onto their loyal staff who “feature in every single review on TripAdvisor, which is fantastic”. They have also launched a “secret supper club”.
