Keeping rats and mice at bay is a common occurrence for any poultry keeper. With a range of different products on the market and with the recent changes in legislation the whole subject can be very confusing. At Tusk we aim to make buying rodenticides easy.


How & why did the legislation change?


In order to limit the effects of rodenticides on non-target animals the HSE in consultation with the CRRU have introduced the


Rodenticide Stewardship scheme. This scheme affects anyone who wishes to buy or sell rodenticides over a 1.5kg pack size. The scheme requires certain documentation to


now be in place before the purchase or sale of rodenticides over a 1.5kg size.

rodenticides over a 1.5kg pack size they must hold the relevant certification. If they don’t, training can be found at
