HELP WANTED: PREVOST ISLAND FARM, located on one of the smaller Gulf Islands, requires a full time em- ployee. The farm is a 20 minute boat ride from Ganges on Salt Spring Is- land. The island has no ferry service and is "off the grid" with generators and solar power. The farm raises Here- ford cattle and commercial sheep. We require a steady responsible sober person experienced with machinery operation and maintenance, and preferably experienced with livestock. Work includes winter feeding, haying, and fencing; maintenance of buildings, water, and power systems; cutting firewood, calving and livestock han- dling, and lumber milling. Accommo- dation is provided and time off is usually flexible. It is important that the employee would genuinely enjoy living in this situation and caring for the land and animals, is physically fit, has a positive outlook, some "bush smarts" and a sense of humour.
