ily and friends together. ASSF Trustee Iain Percy said, “The
money raised from Bart’s Bash has already enabled the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation to support grassroots sailing projects around the world, allowing chil- dren and young people to experience the sport who otherwise would not have been given the opportunity. “This year we want to focus our efforts on disabled sailing. Bart was extremely passionate about the power that sailing has and that it should be accessible for all. It is a travesty that the Paralympics is dropping sailing after Rio 2016 so we have placed Bart’s Bash on the last two days of the Paralympics Games. It really is a call for the worldwide sailing community to get together and help raise funds for disabled and Paralympic sailing in the future.” Visit

Seabridge Marina under new ownership
CHANNEL ISLANDS — Channel Islands 241 Management LLC (CI 241 Mgt) has announced it recently closed escrow on Seabridge Marina. The 241-slip marina is located in a waterfront master-planned community organized around waterways and public open spaces. The news follows a lengthy transaction
that took eight months to finalize. CI 241 Mgt general manager Doug Green thanked D.R. Horton’s In House Counsel and the Southern California Division presi- dent for their professionalism and patience during the complicated transac- tion.
“California Yacht Marina did an excel- lent job of managing the ‘best in class’ Seabridge Marina,” Green added. “We intend to adopt most all of the procedures and policies used by California Yacht Marina as they worked well.” Kathie Connell, who has been with
Seabridge Marina for nine years, will stay on as office manager under the new own- ership. “I am pleased to remain at Seabridge as it has become a home for me and many happy boaters,” she said. “I look forward to the aggressive lease up campaign and getting the word out about our hidden jewel.”
CI 241 Mgt has exciting plans for the marina including the launch of a new Seabridge Marina website, implementing a hands-on and proactive site manage- ment plan with the development of new Wi-Fi on the docks, and reaching out to all registered boaters in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties to inform them of the marina’s superior slips, rates and facilities with 20 percent lower slip fees. “We have over 150 new slips available out of 241 in total, ranging from 20 to 50 feet, our pricing remains 20 to 30 percent below the Ventura County average,” said Green. “Having new Bellingham Unifloat Docks, a Boater’s Lounge that feels like The Four Seasons, with a Vons anchored shop- ping center and a 24 Hour Fitness anchored center as bookends sell itself.”

Paine earns berth on US Olympic sailing team in Finn class
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Caleb Paine of San Diego came from behind March 12 in the Finn European Championship to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic sailing team.
The Log • Mar. 25 - Apr. 7, 2016 • 11 Paine entered the final race needing to
beat two-time Olympian Zach Railey of Clearwater, Florida, by 10 places or more. Paine finished seventh while Railey fin- ished 44th in the 90-boat fleet. The Finn European Championship
served as the second of two U.S. Olympic selection regattas. Railey won the silver medal in the Finn class at Beijing in 2008. Paine began his Finn career prior to the 2012 Olympics as Railey’s training partner, and the two have challenged each other for much of the past six years. Railey’s sister, Paige, has earned a spot
on her second straight Olympic team in the Laser Radial. The U.S. failed to medal in sailing in
London.
