Jason Marshall told me that there are now eleven full-time and part-time paid staff, and a bunch of volunteers. The station itself is the Ottawa
Valley’s first non-profit, community- owned and operated, English language station. At the time of our recording, the station had just finished a week-long Radiothon to raise funds for equipment and working costs, and were very successful; pulling in over $90,000 from appreciative Valley Heritage fans. As you can imagine, the cost of running this business is huge, but what the station gives back with community events, coverage of local issues, and support of Valley music artists, is priceless. Announcer staff includes Andrew
Cartwright in the morning for the past five years, followed by Al Cruise middays and Christa Pare for the drive home. Everyone who does a shift (85 % is live), pick their own
