DUBLIN continued from page 20

as it is divided in half by the River Liffey and full of nice people who actually want to help you. TRINITY COLLEGE was easy to find (just follow all the beautiful young ladies) and I got to indulge myself by hanging out in their unbelievable OLD LIBRARY. I was lured into the building by the 1,000 year old BOOK

OF KELLS and did I mention that 61% of the school are lovely young ladies. I later was enticed into the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF IRELAND to see the Viking exhibit (the Vikings founded Dublin) and stayed the rest of the day (just the building itself is something to see). I then wandered off and got lost again because this city is a “walkers heaven” with lots to see, especially their

stately old Georgian architecture. Folly struck on my fourth day and I must warn you about it. I walked over to the KILMAINHAM GOAL (go early it is a must see) and stood in reverence in the Stone Breakers Yard; where the execu- tions of 14 rebels of the 1916 uprising started the final drive for Irish indepen- dence. The jail is a horror from the 18th century and maybe this dark experience led to my undoing. I next stumbled off to the GUINNESS STOREHOUSE; the birth place of our (and everyone else’s) Guinness. The storehouse explains the making of this brew, which is interesting and at the end of the tour you are invited to ascend to the 7th floor viewing area to receive a complementary single pint (GRAVITY BAR). I saw no evident warning signs that may have averted my tragedy. As I chatted with some friendly tourists; (almost) unbeknownst to me, adjacent young girls were taking a single sip of this delicious elixir and then pass- ing their pints over to me. After only 4/5 pints, I forced myself to go back to my residence and have a nap (and lost most of a day/evening in Dublin). So beware of pretty young ladies; should you decide to visit Dublin.

The next few days merged into one as I wandered the streets and bridges of Dublin, spending too much time in the TEMPLE BAR Pub in the Bar district,
