Leaders in Sustainability Speaker Series event,Turning Energy Challenges Into Busi- ness Opportunities, to be held December 11 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Westchester Com- munity College, The Gateway Center, 75 Grasslands Rd., Valhalla, NY. This is the second installment of a

four-part series featuring business leaders who have achieved WGB certification. This event will assess the state of clean energy in Westchester County and take a look at what three leading organizations are doing to pave the way for a more sustain- able future. Featured speakers will be Jill Davis, director of Hendrick Hudson Free Library; Chris Hale, founder and president of SunBlue Solar; and Jeffrey Hogan, energy and sustainability manager of Montefiore Medical Center. Future installments in the series will be held March 11 and May 20. WGB-Certified is the region’s only green business certification program for Westchester-based organizations ready to take their sustainability efforts to the next level. The program was launched in early 2014 and represents an expansion of the Westchester Green Business Challenge, a public-private partnership between West- chester County and the Business Council of Westchester. The WGBC speaker series is intended as an informative and interac- tive way to rethink the role of energy in Westchester’s business community and share strategies any business can use to turn energy into a competitive advantage.
