TWO MORE AN-124-100 FREIGHTERS FOR VOLGA-DNEPR


Volga-Dnepr Group has signed a finance lease agreement with JSC Sberbank Leasing to increase its fleet by two more An-124-00 Ruslan freighters.


The move increases the size of the Group’s An- 124 fleet to 12 aircraft.


Sergey Shklyanik, Group Senior Vice President, said: “The An-124-100


aircraft fleet expansion goes in line with the Group Strategy 2020 which provides for fleet extension with Russian and foreign-made aircraft.”


Dennis Gliznoutsa, VP Sales at Volga- Dnepr Airlines, added: “Two more Ruslan freighters will secure the airline’s leadership in the global outsize and super-heavy air transportation market. Great knowledge and expertise as well as a broad maintenance infrastructure is required to operate this aircraft successfully. Volga-Dnepr Group is proud to have all of these prerequisites in place; for over 25 years we’ve been using the advantages of this great aircraft worldwide. We are confident that by extending our fleet we


will offer even more flexibility to meet the demands of our customers.”


Volga-Dnepr Group has a 62% share of the outsize and heavyweight air cargo market, according to its marketing analysis.


As the charter cargo arm of the Group, Volga-Dnepr Airlines also operates a fleet of five IL-76TD-90VD freighters which are compliant with current and prospective ICAO requirements and offer worldwide services without any restrictions. The Group’s scheduled


airline, AirBridgeCargo Airlines, operates a fleet of 15 Boeing 747 freighters (5 x Boeing 747-400ERF, 4 x Boeing 747-400F and 6 x the latest generation Boeing 747-8F) and two Boeing 737-400F aircraft.
